Brer Rabbit Molassas Full Flavor (Dark) 12 oz - 6 Unit Pack Review

I use my great-grandmother's recipe for molasses cookies. She died in 1915 and the recipe has been handed down. My grandmother always used Bre'r Rabbit green label. Tonight I used a substitute after a fruitless search of the local supermarkets for the real thing. The difference was profound. The substitute produced cookies that are nearly inedible. I'll be using only Bre'r Rabbit from now on.

Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Molasses, 32-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3) Review

I try to take this product on a regular basis, every day or every couple of days. It has helped me with an estrogen dominance problem (heavy bleeding) and other pms symptoms. I consider it to be a medicinal product. It is loaded with nutrients women need, like iron, potassium, etc... I love that it is organic.
The best way I have found to take it is like a tea. I started out putting about 1 tablespoon in a mug and filling it with hot water, then sipping it.
My favorite recipe now is to put 1 Tbsp in the mug and stir in about 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Then I add the water, leaving some room at the top. Then I pour in about 2-3 Tbsp of coconut milk and stir. This "tea" is rich and creamy and tastes a lot like hot coco with a little zip from the cayenne.

Green & Black's Organic Chocolate Bar, 70% Cocoa, 3.5-Ounce Bars (Pack of 10) Review

Be careful what supplier you select. It shouldn't be Nutricity. From Amazon, the G&B bars (made in Canada) arrive promptly; I've ordered them several times and will again. My first (and last) order from Nutricity, however, arrived a month after the order had been placed, and then only after an inquiry to the seller. The bars were dry, stale and hard, the color of cocoa powder rather than chocolate bars. Although the bars still had 10 months to go before expiration of the sell-by date on the wrappers, they were a disgrace to the good name of G&B. It may be that they had been stored improperly, or that the single paper wrapper used in the Italian plant (the Canadian maker uses an inner foil wrap) allowed too much air to get to the bars. I'll grind them for hot chocolate, but they are unsuitable for eating directly and very similar in quality to the bars one sometimes finds at mass-market outlets that resell overstock from other retailers.

Mount Hagen Organic Freeze Dried Instant Coffee, 3.53-Ounce Jars (Pack of 6) Review

Mount Hagen Organic Freeze Dried Instant Coffee, 3.53-Ounce Jars (Pack of 6)

I like freshly-ground, brewed coffee, but sometimes I'm in a hurry and just want a reasonable facsimile that looks, smells, and tastes like it and delivers my morning "buzz". Generally, any instant can be made drinkable if you doctor it up with enough creamer and sugar. Many of the previous reviews heaped praise on this drink, so naturally I wanted to see if Mount Hagen is really that good.
To make this review a bit different, I decided conduct a coffee "throwdown" between Mount Hagen Organic Instant Freeze Dried Coffee and Nescafe Taster's Choice Instant Coffee, Regular, 0.49-Ounce Single Sticks, 7-Count Boxes (Pack of 24). I wasn't expecting the Nescafe to be better than the Mount Hagen; it's just that I do drink that brand and like it. For the review, I brewed a cup of each of the instants according to instructions. Here's what I found:
Aroma- Neither of these brands has a rich aroma, but the Mt. Hagen had the edge here, mainly because it's a darker roast.
Taste- Fairly close results; the Taster's Choice was not bitter and had a fairly clean finish (no undesirable aftertaste). It was pretty watery when brewed according to instructions, though. Mount Hagen chalks one up in the win column for richer flavor and a fuller body.
Convenience/Affordability- Taster's Choice is more convenient but is not more affordable than Mt. Hagen (price/ounce). Nescafe scores here on convenience.
Eco-friendliness- Mount Hagen would seem to win because it's an organically-grown product (not sure if it's Fair Trade, though). However, it may have a larger carbon footprint than the Nescafe, since it's imported from Germany. The 2 brands tie on this category.
In the end, I would go with the Mt. Hagen for at-home use because of it's slightly richer flavor and it's organically grown. I wouldn't mind keeping a couple of tubes of the Taster's Choice around in a drawer or the glove compartment for a caffeine-based "emergency", though.
