The Crown Prince oysters are packed in olive oil -- a huge step up in health and taste. They are convenient little bundles of protein that can be packed in a lunch, etc. They taste wonderful added to soup or stew. Great for last minute entertaining. Last but not least, I like to have a case on hand in my disaster supplies.

Tonight I used a substitute after a fruitless search of the local supermarkets for the real thing. The difference was profound. The substitute produced cookies that are nearly inedible. I'll be using only Bre'r Rabbit from now on.

(More customer reviews)I try to take this product on a regular basis, every day or every couple of days. It has helped me with an estrogen dominance problem (heavy bleeding) and other pms symptoms. I consider it to be a medicinal product. It is loaded with nutrients women need, like iron, potassium, etc... I love that it is organic.
The best way I have found to take it is like a tea. I started out putting about 1 tablespoon in a mug and filling it with hot water, then sipping it.
My favorite recipe now is to put 1 Tbsp in the mug and stir in about 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Then I add the water, leaving some room at the top. Then I pour in about 2-3 Tbsp of coconut milk and stir. This "tea" is rich and creamy and tastes a lot like hot coco with a little zip from the cayenne.

Only had to use 1/3 of the bag for 6 muffins so, at $2.50 per bag, it's not at all expensive. Now I can make casaroles with cornbread topping, etc. I also am not fond of the Bob's mixes with the bean flour (taste really funny and beany) but this one is a keeper.

Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 51-Ounce Bottle Review

(More customer reviews)I have been using lots and lots of Bertolli Oil for long time. I use it only raw, so I can fully appreciate its flavor.
I was really pleased to see it here on Amazon, at a price that is slightly lower than in any local stores.

What a huge disappointment it was to see, upon delivery, that the bottle was cheap transparent plastic.
Decent quality extra virgin olive oil MUST be in glass bottles or at most cans (e.g. Carli oil has some big cans along with glass bottles), even better if dark glass, because light and oxygen deteriorate its quality very easily. You will never ever see a good quality oil is plastic bottles!! I am Italian and this is something that any Italian knows very well.
I could not believe that they ruined the Bertolli oil storing it in cheap plastic, and the taste reflect this poor storage. It does not nearly have the same rich taste as the oil that is stored in glass. I believe this is because it has been stored for too long in that worthless bottle. It expires in 1 year so probably it was bottled about 10 months ago.
This oil as it is in the plastic is really not worth the price, for the taste it has, you can find some better oils for lower price (while to me the Bertolli oil in glass bottles is UNBEATABLE for its rich taste, and I have tried many many oils).
This is why I am canceling my subscription and I am going back buying again the same oil in a local store that sells it in respectable glass bottles.
You can google "extra virgin olive oil plastic" and you'll find many results that advice to stay away from plastic bottles as oils absorb PVCs a lot, even at room temperature. This is unhealthy and strongly affects the taste of the oil.

(More customer reviews)Wow, I don't know what to say about the "bad idea" review, and it's interesting because the company actually claims the lava salt has positive health effects. For what it's worth, we haven't noticed any change in our health, good or bad, since using this product.
About six months ago a friend gave us some Palm Island Salts (black, red and green) as a housewarming gift and we really love them all. He works in one of those hippie/dippy health/organic foods stores down near Santa Cruz, owned by some very health-conscious people. I'm a meat-lovin' (grass-fed only), organic-produce-eatin' moderate, and it's the taste that causes me to buy this salt and the organic produce I eat, not the health claims.
It's true this salt has activated charcoal as the third ingredient, behind "Natural Pacific Sea Salt" and "Premium Hawaiian Sea Salt," and ahead of "Hawaii Kai Ocean Essence," a trademarked blend of "ocean electrolytes, trace minerals, and elements." Sounds like health-nut market-speak to me, but it sure tastes good!
Our favorite is the black, which is just amazing, but the red is a close 2nd. It's incredible what a difference it makes in the food we cook, compared to other sea salts we use, and all our guests take notice when I use it! We like the green too, but don't use it much. We still use Redmond Sea Salt for day-to-day cooking, and it's very good too, but whenever we want to add something special, we add the black or the red.
We use it very sparingly, as it is quite strong in flavor. A single 6-ounce pouch is only half-empty after 6 months, so a little goes a long way. We actually use the red a little more, as it is nearly as good in taste and much better in appearance.
Not that I doubt the above reviewer about the danger of activated charcoal, but it seems a safe product to me just judging from personal experience, and it is put out by a company that actually seems to have a conscience. You can check out their website at [...]
