I bought this and 2 other Dandelion drinks because a cycle of Creatine protein caused a huge (40 lb), rapid (2 week), water retention. You read that right... I put on 40 lbs of water weight in 2 weeks. I blew up like a balloon!
Creatine is used by athletes for explosive power and fast recovery, but it rapidly degrades into the kidney foe Creatinine. After trying and failing with just about every other (natural) means of stimulating kidney function, I decided to try the lowly Dandelion. Since I don't use flavorings in my drinks (no sugar, cream, etc), this was a true taste test for each of the 3 products I purchased.
To my surprise, the two other Dandelion products were very unpleasant to consume. They tasted almost medicinal, and a highly rated coffee substitute caused an allergic reaction! Chartreuse Dandelion Detox, on the other hand, was absolutely fresh and delicious - even when brewed super strong.
Best of all, I began losing water weight the first day I drank this tea. In fact, I'VE LOST 5.5 LBS IN 7 DAYS!!! I tasted it myself and it was too tart and gritty as well as too much in one bite. I decided to cut it in half and only give 1/2 at a time, but I wondered if they were getting their daily allowances. They tolerated it but did not remind me if I forgot to give it to them.
I was a little dissappointed.

They are so soft, almost melting in my mouth as I tried one. I would describe it more like an extra firm gelatin. The shapes are indistinct in shades of orange, red and purple. I am not sure if they are supposed to be anything.
My son chose this vitamin and seems to like it. He happily takes them every day.

I just love it for breakfast with butter, sugar and milk. It fills me up and yet I don't have the bloated feeling I sometimes have with wheat cereals. I have had ileostomy surgery and this product is wonderful for me in that regard as well. I am so glad I found it again after years of doing without. I tried putting dry rice in a mill to grind it, but it sure is a lot less work getting it pre-ground this way. It works well as a binder for meatloaf and also as a thickener for soups!

These muffins were a big hit every time I made them, even for our tweener nieces, who usually look at anything bran as "ew gross." Unfortunately, the manufacturer changed the recipe, and now dry raisins are simply incorporated into the dry mixture. I noticed a distinct negative change in the moistness of the muffins. And is it just me, or did the fat content increase? At any rate, still a tasty and relatively healthy option for breakfast. And very easy--and fast--to make.

(More customer reviews)When I suffered from a low milk supply with my 3rd child I tried many formulas until I found this one. My baby refused all others. This one is the closest tasting to breast milk, has the best ingredients, and spit up is no where near as foul as with other formulas.
It can cause a bit of constipation, so I recommend talking with your ped about it. Mine recommended giving my baby 2oz of prune juice 2x a day. (And he was a Preemie) It does bubble up a LOT if you shake it up when mixing. Use a spoon instead, or add 2-3 drops of gas drops into the bottle. (Wal-Mart sells the generic form of Mylicon for around $4 and you get double the amount, instead of $12)
I have had another child since I first found this formula and I would use nothing else! Oh, and remember to save the UPC codes to mail in...you get 1 can free for every 12 you buy!

I think even flax newbies will habituate to this taste, especially because of the familiar taste of the multi-grain flakes and the raisins (see other reviews). As one who sometimes puts a tablespoon of flax seed oil on top of oatmeal, the flax seed flavor was a welcome change from the usual cold cereal offerings.
THis cereal is pretty darn good for you> Obviously, you're gonna want to consult a doctor or nutritionist, and I am neither. From a lay person's pont of view, however, the 11 grams of fiber("11 WHOPPING grams," I should say--that's way more than oatmeal, and more than bran flakes or any other hot or cold cereal I've seen) 600 grams of Omegas and no saturated fat all sound very good for you. If offers 20% of the Daily Value of iron (see nutritional information below), without any added iron! Very rare. Perhaps it has to do with all those organic grains (and raisins): Organic whole wheat flour, organic wheat bran, organic oat bran, organic barley malt extract. (See below for a complete list of ingredients.)
